Step 2 & 3 Workguide for Athiests (?)

It seems like this could be a very viable approach to looking at Steps 2 and 3 for the right person.  For myself, my hope for being my best/highest self wouldn't be powerful enough by itself, but I can certainly see how this could work for someone. Also, when I think about it, even though it wouldn't be enough for me, I think that's a meaningful idea to me, and it probably plays some role in things for me.

I'm wondering if it might have more "oomph" if it was incorporated into (or incorporated into itself) some other items--the idea of utilizing the connections with fellowship and the principles of the program being possible sources of higher power as well..

There's a story in the NA book called something like "Atheists recover too' (I think) which has a really interesting approach that this one guy took to build his recovery using the principles of the steps. I don't remember his approach right now exactly, so I won't say more, but it worked well for him.

I'm posting in a separate thread some initial work that 4 or 5 of us have done on something like a step 2 working guide which could be used by anyone with any belief system (at least that was one of our objectives).
