Fifth PA CGAA Meetup info, May 17-20

I made the payment of $1090 on the rental houses in Lehman Township, PA for May 17-20. If you're coming, please send your contribution as soon as you can. I'll keep all the bookkeeping and post it as the money comes in and goes out.

Several people will be driving from the New York City area, so we can coordinate carpooling from Newark airport if you can arrive by 4pm. Greyhound buses can bring you within 10 miles of the house.

There are 18 spots in the houses. If we have more people, some will need to bring an air mattress or find other lodging.

The two closest hotels are: Value Inn 7 miles away at about $60 per night and the Bushkill Inn 3 miles away at $125 per night.

We will buy groceries for the group, depending on how much money we collect. If any money is charged for damage repair, we will need to collect more contributions to cover it. (In the past four years, there was no damage and no deposit money withheld.)

I am thinking about going this year, but would like to confirm a ride from Newark Airport to the house and back before committing. Anyone driving near the airport on Friday midday and back on Sunday (midday) would be a peach. I am planning on catching a red-eye from SFO on Thursday night and flying back Sunday early evening. 916-622-7551 for call/text.

What we've done in the past for the airport carpool is rent a car roughly from noon friday to noon monday. We leave the airport sometime in the early afternoon on friday and get people back there between 11 and 12 monday (so flights that arrive before noon and leave after 2 are best). If there are enough people carpooling to get 2 cars, then there may be more options.

So that'll cover your arrival. For leaving on Sunday, you may need to find a local person who's driving back earlier. There usually are a few people who live in the area who come and may be able to do that. So far, the other people flying in are all coming for 3 nights, but it's possible more people will come who need to leave on sunday.

Anyone who is coming from the Philadelphia area on Friday the 17th, please let me know if you would like to carpool. I plan to leave Friday morning and return Monday afternoon. Maybe we can meet at a SEPTA train station such as Glenside or Jenkintown.I can fit three additional adults in my car.

I booked a flight landing in Philadelphia and just sent money to Scott. I will either try to catch a ride with Linda or rent a car and try to see the Barnes museum on Monday during the day before my evening flight. I'm hoping beds aren't already filled up...
