Some untested ideas on starting meetings.

How to find people/let people know?

Aside from the obvious things about posting and asking around here, there are a couple of other ideas I had.
1. Use meetup.com
2. Give information/flyers to local therapsits and especially local rehabs.
3. Post flyers on the bulletin board at recovery clubs. Lots of AA and NA meetings are held at recovery clubs which are not officially part of AA. So gaming addiction is not an outside issue, and CGAA could even potentially rent a room in one of these clubs for a meeting, just like other fellowships, if there is a time slot available. Quite a few of our members are also drug or alcohol addicted, and we know (again from our members) that many gaming addicts who aren't cross-addicted are "hiding out" in AA and NA because they have nowhere else to go (not knowing about CGAA). So I think these are really important places to get the word out.
4. The counseling center at the local college or university. This is where students go for help sometimes when they are failing. And sometimes they are failing because they play games all the time.

CGAA has approved flyers that can be downloaded and used. There is a space on them for people to put the information about their local meeting. The flyers are found in the forum "OOMG-approved information."

These are a few ideas I've had, but I haven't tried them yet. FWIW.

These are great ideas--I've been thinking about trying to start something locally.  Do any of you use a GoogleVoice VOIP number as a "local hotline"?

Our fellowship hotline is a google number, which works fine.

I was thinking meetup.com as well.
Might as well give it a shot.
