Post by ADH »

Agenda:

2: Volunteer for note taker of topics and decisions?
3: Approval of February 2024 minutes.

Possible options:

Perhaps a combination of these?
If not a google doc, in what form should the feedback be expected? Body text of a message/email, libreoffice writer document as a attachment, or submitted in the forums here (GAA forums)?

Litcom address was often used.
Using google docs for editing also useful.
Email to literature@gaais.org
Use of regular WhatsApp groups also suggested.

* To give feedback on this reading, either comment here, respond to (editor) privately, or comment in the Google Doc.
Highlight text and press [+] to comment. If you’d rather make direct edits, copy the document and edit it.
Specifically, we want to know if anything is unclear, seems at odds with our recovery program, needs examples, or seems to miss a vital part of the topic.

1. Getting materials out
a. Post in general WhatsApp
b. Ask reps to get the word out to their groups (e.g. announce in meetings, post in their own WhatsApp groups)
c. Email to allgroups@gaais.org
2. Getting feedback
a. Comments on google docs
b. Comments in WhatsApp forums
c. Email to litcom@gaais.org (or literature@gaais.org?)
d. Message to your rep or a member of LitCom

Consensus: Keep the current methods of feedback.

6: Report on: Basic text next steps
A: Outline of chapters with descriptions https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ccL ... g1tb1dorar

B. Create log that tracks number of people submitting text for each section.

( Scott created the log. )
C. Organize materials that have already been submitted into sections.
( Scott organized this material, is at about 98% )

D. Next step would be Polling the Fellowship to ask:
(1) what sections you'd like to submit stories, text or ideas
(2) what additional topics you'd like to see
(3) comments on outlined topics and overall structure

E. Regularly remind people to make submissions, publicly thank contributors, and warn of impending deadline. [ Step E Not yet started. ]
F. Set up interviews for stories from people who haven't written them down
[ Step F is wanted. Recovery Stories & Interviews, audio to text wanted ! ]

7: FAQ re: God and the Steps, for members of other fellowships https://gaais.org/god-faq
Workshop on structure, questions, answers.

This has gone through “process treatment” where the purpose of the item has been clearly stated.

* To address two identifiable groups in G.A.A. and the two orientations we encounter. We want to address both orientations.
To respond to the spiritual related concepts encountered and G.A.A.’s approach. The wording around Higher Power is to be inclusive.

Project Description first > then if approved by Literature Committee do we feel ready to advance the project if yes > move to G.S.C.

See Literature Committee Project Flow chart.
https://www.gamingaddictsanonymous.org/ ... -committee

Motion: send to GSC with description, history, and current status, ask GSC if they want to move to Step 2 or move to Step 7
Approved by Committee

8: Discuss "a program" vs "our program"
GSC passed a motion to send back Steps Intro to Lit Comm.
Rationale: need more context, more powerful description that would give people motivation to work the steps, and discussion may be needed about "a program" vs "our program.”
* ( Editor needed to spearhead this process. )
Discussion of GSC concerns needed.

* Additional Note, GSC needs attendees to promote literature process & creation.

Steps forward:
We read and think on our own time about the Steps Intro.
Jennie writes up commentary from GSC
LitCom discusses at next meeting or via WhatsApp, email
We’ll pick this up to next meeting.

Meeting concluded.

Next Meeting : Saturday, March 23, 1:00pm PT, 4pm ET. 9pm CET,
'Would you tell me please, which way I ought to go from here ?'
'That depends a good deal on where you want to get to,' said the Cat.
